Blood & Urine Test
At Mjay Santé we offer both blood & urine tests.
In general, the majority of private insurance will reimburse private diagnostic laboratory tests up to a certain amount per year. We will provide a receipt that you can submit to your private insurance for reimbursement.
What You Need To Know
Blood Tests can be used for several reasons, it helps to diagnose diseases such as cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes, HIV AIDS among other diseases or medical conditions. Can also be used for paternity tests.
It is important to know that although blood tests can indicate your risk of having heart disease or other health conditions, more than often other confirmatory tests are needed to diagnose many diseases. It is extremely important to follow up with your medical doctor.
You must bring to your appointment the signed test Requisition (Prescription) you received from your physician. We cannot perform testing without a signed test Requisition.

Fasting Before Your Blood Test
We understand that fasting before a blood test can be challenging, but it's important to follow the instructions given to you by your healthcare provider. Typically, fasting is required for tests such as fasting blood glucose, which measures the amount of sugar in your blood to check for diabetes or prediabetes. Your doctor will advise you on how long you need to fast before your test, and it's important to adhere to these instructions to ensure accurate results.
What To Expect
We will provide you with a container to collect your sample. We recommend collecting "midstream" by allowing a small amount of urine to fall into the toilet bowl before collecting the sample. Your sample will then be sent to our lab for testing and the results will be sent to the requestor.
Our team of certified professionals will take the urine sample and send it to our laboratory for analysis. You will need to sign our form authorizing the release of the results to the requestor. Test results will not be released unless we have your written consent.
Urine Analysis
Urine analysis can help your doctor diagnose medical conditions, find the cause and or to monitor your condition related to stroke including blood clots, urinary tract infections, bleeding in the urinary system, kidney or liver disease. It can also be used for diabetes, some diseases of the blood, and bladder stones and other metabolic diseases.
Urinalysis can also be ordered for a pregnancy test and also can check your levels of particular proteins, sugars, chemicals, certain bacteria and its acidity or alkalinity and hormones.
